This is not an isolated collapse. Three of Peirce’s sign types — icon, index, and denotation — also converge at 0000E080, a hex shared by 20+ entities across linguistics and general language. Meanwhile, semiotics as a discipline (4020F480) differs from its own fundamental concepts by only two bits: the addition of Synthetic and the preservation of Compositional.

Interpretation

The signifier/signified collapse reveals a genuine trait-set boundary. UHT traits describe what kind of thing something is — both signifier and signified are symbolic, rule-governed, compositional social constructs that process signals at a meta level. They differ in role within a relation (form vs. content), and UHT has no trait for relational role. This is not a misclassification: it is an accurate statement that signifier and signified are the same kind of entity, differentiated only by their position in a dyadic structure.

The 0000E080 attractor (denotation/icon/index) captures “passive signs” — entities that carry meaning without processing or analyzing it. Stripping away Processes Signals/Logic and Meta from the semiotics profile yields exactly this pattern.
