The 0000A000 mega-cluster and why scalars only half-vanish

Observation

One hundred and twelve entities share the hex code 0000A000. This makes it the single most populated non-null classification in the entire entity graph — a silent attractor that had gone unnoticed. Among its residents: commutativity, associativity, transitivity, and congruence sit at Jaccard 1.000 to each other, activating exactly two traits (Symbolic and Rule-Governed) and nothing else. Beside them: Gibbs free energy, channel capacity, Isomorphism, Mathematical Constant, cardinality — and dozens of word-sense disambiguations. The trait set cannot tell these apart.

Evidence

HYP-013 predicted that scalar/continuous quantities would produce null-hex (00000000) at ≥60%, while structural/compositional concepts would stay below 30%. Testing 20 scalar quantities: 9 classified as null-hex (voltage, pressure, density, wavelength, elasticity, viscosity, inductance, impedance, torque) and 11 did not (temperature at 80400000, velocity at 86440000, capacitance at 90640000, among others). Null-hex rate: 45%, below the 60% threshold. Among 10 structural/compositional concepts (topology, recursion, entropy, hierarchy, category, lattice, automaton, manifold, fixed point, homeomorphism): zero null-hex classifications. Rate: 0%. Among 7 pure mathematical relations: 2 null-hex (symmetry, gradient), 5 non-null but all converging on 0000A000. Rate: 29%.

The four core mathematical relations — commutativity, associativity, transitivity, congruence — are indistinguishable at Jaccard 1.0 and Hamming distance 0. Bijection deviates by a single trait (Processes Signals/Logic), dropping to Jaccard 0.667. This five-member cluster is a perfect functional archetype: “pure formal relation.”

Interpretation

HYP-013 is refuted on its own terms — scalar quantities do not reach the predicted null-hex rate. But the directional signal is real and stark: 45% vs 0% is not noise. Scalars are far more likely to vanish into null-hex than structural concepts, which always activate something. The split within scalars is harder to explain: voltage and pressure vanish while temperature and velocity don’t. No clean intensive-vs-extensive or fundamental-vs-derived distinction accounts for it. The null-hex phenomenon appears to reflect something about how the trait definitions interact with certain concept types, not a clean category boundary.

The 0000A000 mega-cluster is the more significant discovery. When 112 entities collapse to two traits, that is a trait-set gap made visible. Concepts like Gibbs free energy and commutativity are not the same kind of thing, yet UHT has no trait that distinguishes them. A “Quantitative-Measure” or “Relational-Structure” trait could split this cluster into meaningful sub-groups. Isomorphism’s drift from 00000000 to 0000A000 now makes sense — it gained the minimal profile rather than remaining entirely uncharacterized.

Action

HYP-013 closed as refuted (RES-CALIBRATIONRESULTS-015). HYP-014 closed as duplicate of confirmed HYP-015. OBS-STRUCTURALFINDINGS-024 records the 0000A000 archetype saturation and motivates a trait proposal to split it. The “pure-mathematical-relation” functional archetype is stored as a research fact. Next session should investigate what distinguishes null-hex scalars from non-null scalars — the within-category split may reveal a sharper predictor than “scalar vs structural.” Only HYP-008 remains active and untested.
