The orphan report lies — and the lie reveals where tracing effort stops

The orphan report for mass-bomber claims all 571 requirements are untraced. That is wrong. Cross-referencing the 41 linksets tells a different story: 467 trace links connect 453 unique requirements, leaving roughly 118 genuine orphans. The report appears to be blind to cross-document linksets — it checks whether a requirement has traces within its own document scope, missing the inter-document derivation links that account for most of the project’s traceability work. This discrepancy is itself worth investigating upstream in the reporting logic.
